VADS Berhad (VADS) is a fully Integrated Connectivity, ICT, and BPO solutions provider. VADS was incorporated on 29 November 1990 and formed in 1991 as a joint venture between Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd (IBM) to take advantage of the convergence of the IT and Telecommunications Industry. The Company officially started operations in 1992. Two other partners, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) joined in the venture in 1993 and 1995 respectively. Today, VADS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia (TM) Berhad.
Together with VADS Lyfe, the TM Smart City Services provider, VADS is the only service provider in Malaysia that is able to provide end-to-end solutions and managed services to TM’s enterprise and public sector customers.
VADS Lyfe is a smart services solutions provider with a focus on township development and the real estate industry. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and leverages on the TM Group of Companies to provide tailored solutions to meet the needs of developers and township managers.
The company creates and delivers smart solutions that are designed to leverage TM’s Connectivity and VADS’ ICT capabilities. It helps organisations create safe and sustainable environments to help improve service delivery and overall quality of life. Among its specialised offerings are an Integrated Operation Centre (IOC) and a Service Exchange Platform to provide customised solutions to meet diverse customer needs.
The Government Integrated Telecommunications Network (GITN) is a network infrastructure to facilitate electronic flow of information for intra and inter-Government agencies to enhance the delivery of public services. In October 1995, the Cabinet approved the implementation of GITN to provide network and common services to the government agencies on a privatisation basis.
GITN Sdn. Berhad was incorporated in March 1996 to undertake the Malaysian government’s network implementation project. Since then, GITN has developed Malaysia’s nationwide network infrastructure and its services are currently being used by various government agencies.
GITN enables electronic transfer and sharing of information across Government agencies, thereby enhancing the efficiency of service to the citizens at large. GITN is also a major component of the Government vision to realise the e-Government project under the Multimedia Super Corridor initiative.
Telekom Applied Business Sdn Bhd (TAB) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM). TAB started its operation on 1st March 1998 as an ICT systems and software development company focusing on convergence services. TAB was awarded MSC status in 2000.
It originally began operations as Telekom Malaysia’s arm that focused on research & development of products. It has two core business solutions, namely ICT Value Added Services (VAS) and ICT Operation Support Services (OSS). Both play a pivotal role in providing digitisation services to TM’s customers.
TAB also operates as Telekom Malaysia Certification Authority (TMCA) and is TM’s venture into digital & information security space, which is also a critical requirement for convergence & digital services. It enforces Digital Signature Act 1997 (DSA) and Digital Signature Regulation Act 1998 (DSR) in Malaysia.
PT. VADS Indonesia is a subsidiary of TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Group. Established in 1991, the company was born out of a joint venture between IBM Global Network Services and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM).
VADS Indonesia started its operations in Indonesia on December 1, 2008. Today, it is one of Indonesia’s leading companies providing digital customer experience management solutions.
Hisham was most recently a Director in the Group Managing Director’s Office at Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad until end of March 2019.
He was the Chief Operating Officer of Astro Overseas Limited from July 2014 until June 2018 and prior to that a Director in the Investments Division at Khazanah from April 2009 to June 2014. Hisham joined Khazanah in May 2005 from Tricubes Berhad where he was an ED and Vice President of Corporate and Financing Planning.
Hisham started his career in 1987 in the insurance industry at Universal Life and General Insurance and thereafter at William M. Mercer Sdn Bhd in 1988. From there, he became an investment analyst at Crosby Research (M) Sdn Bhd in 1991, at Barings Research (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1994 and at UBS Research (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1996. In 1998, he was a financial consultant at Sithe Pacific LLC, a regional independent power producer prior to setting up an investment advisory firm, KE Malaysia Capital Partners Sdn Bhd with a partner in 2000. He is also a Business Coach at Asia School of Business since August 2018.
Ahmad Taufek Omar, has been appointed as Executive Vice President of TM One effective 26 August 2019, where he is entrusted to further lead TM One as a fully integrated digital enabler for enterprises and public sector to bring the industry forward in transitioning into Industrial Revolution 4.0.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.BA Hons) from the International Islamic University, Malaysia. Ahmad Taufek is no stranger to the telco industry, having worked with almost all major telcos namely Maxis, Digi, Time and Celcom, and a track record of successful operations turn around, driving increase in revenue and profits in Enterprise Market. He brings with him more than 28 years of experience, particularly in sales and marketing for enterprise businesses. His most recent stint was as the Head of Corporate, Government and Wholesale Business at Maxis.
Besides the telcos, he also previously served as the Chief Digital Marketing and Information Technology Officer for QSR Brands, and oversaw the setting up of PT Smartfren’s enterprise business in Indonesia to enrich his professional portfolio.
Mohd Roslan, holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York City in 1984 and obtained a Master’s degree in Communications Management, from University of Strathclyde, Scotland in 2008.
He joined TM in 1990 as a Switching Engineer and in 1995 seconded to Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to develop the network masterplan for Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC); and later spearheaded the development of Smart School Flagship and Smart Card Flagship Applications.
From 1997-2005, he served in TM Net Sdn Bhd as Chief Technology Officer and was instrumental in re-engineering TM Net network and developing its Data Centre and Streamyx services.
In 2005, he was appointed CEO of Meganet Communications Sdn Bhd, a JV company between TM and NTT Japan, focusing on System Integration and Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS). In 2007, he was entrusted to draft and develop the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) masterplan with IRDA and other stakeholders. He was then appointed as TM’s Johor State Vice President, where he was instrumental in putting TM’s presence in Nusajaya, the starting point for TM’s direct involvement in Iskandar Malaysia’s development.
Mohd Roslan was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of GITN in 2014. He was promoted to his current role as TM’s Head of Government on 15 May 2017 to have a more effective role in managing the government sector in a broader context while continuing to serve as the CEO of GITN.
As of 1 February 2019, Roslan is leading TM One’s Sales division nationwide.
Fatimah was appointed as Director on the Board of VADS Berhad on 9 May 2019. Fatimah Mis is a Certified Practising Accountant Australia (CPA Australia). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accountancy from the University of Wollongong, Australia and an MBA in Strategic Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She has more than 20 years of experience in the finance functions in the telecommunications industry including billing, revenue operations, financial and management accounting, overseeing financial and management reporting, planning, budgeting and forecast for TM Group. She was made General Manager, Financial Control and Accounts in 2012 where she championed the GST implementation for TM Group of companies. In 2015, she was re-designated as GM, Business Planning and Reporting before assuming the current role as Financial Controller of TM Group in August 2017.

Mohd Shah started his career with Hanafiah Raslan & Mohamad where he was assigned as a Junior Audit Assistant for about two years. The experience gained as an auditor, his auditing works in many companies from various industries has helped him in understanding the importance of internal control, proper governance and timely updating of financial records for management and statutory reporting needs.
Mohd Shah joined TM in late 1986 during the privatisation of Jabatan Telekom Malaysia to a Government Linked Company, Syarikat Telekom Malaysia Berhad, where he was appointed as Junior Account Assistant at the Central Region.
During his 30+ years in service with TM, he has assumed various roles and positions that includes planning, budgeting, management reporting, procurement, and financial operation. His last position was as the General Manager of Business Finance TM Government, prior to his appointment as CFO of VADS Berhad on 31st May 2017.

Shazurawati is currently the Vice President of TM ONE Business Services & CX, and CEO of VADS Business Process Sdn Bhd, the leading business services company offering a comprehensive and integrated business process outsourcing services for customer experience management services and business operations in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Prior to this, Shazurawati was the Vice President at TM COO and Transformation Office driving the Group performance improvement programs aligned to strategic roadmap across revenue generation, cost and cash management, customer experience and productivity. She was formerly the Vice President of Partnership for TM ONE where she led and oversaw TM ONE’s partnership program and alliances across the industry verticals, technology, product, services and solutions with both local and global players to strengthen and co-create the value chain, economic growth, technology and business innovation for the local businesses and public sectors.
She had served as the Chief Operating Officer of VADS Bhd with Directorships in its subsidiaries, covering the ICT business and its nationwide delivery and operations for large enterprises and established organizations across multiple industry sectors.
As the Vice President of the Technology and Innovation for Telekom Malaysia’s, Shazurawati has led and delivered the transformation of the technical design and development of TM’s commercial products and offerings, customer premises equipment design and technology business strategy blueprint. She began her career in international network operations, submarine cable operation working with consortiums of global carriers, mobile product management and internal audit.
Shazurawati holds a Masters and BA in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, was a Certified Internal Auditor and she had also attended a program at Stanford University and various other Executive courses.
