Following the recent appointment of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) as the sole Malaysian Cloud Service Provider (CSP) under the MyDIGITAL – Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL) together with the appointed Managed Service Provider (MSP), its enterprise and public sector business arm, TM ONE has announced its readiness to serve the public sector with its end-to-end cloud infrastructure and services, Cloud α (pronounced as Cloud Alpha).

The announcement of the appointment was made by YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Muhyiddin Haji Mohd Yassin, Prime Minister of Malaysia at the virtual launch of MyDIGITAL on Friday.

TM, via TM ONE, has its own state-of-the-art core Data Centres and Cloud infrastructure equipped with full data residency, locality and sovereignty in Malaysia.

TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAP), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic collaboration to accelerate the digital transformation of Malaysian enterprises and to improve their operating efficiency through digital solutions. The event also announced the appointment of TM ONE as the first local hyperscaler to become the Partner Managed Cloud (PMC) provider for SAP business suite solutions in Malaysia.

With this appointment, TM ONE’s α Edge (pronounced as Alpha Edge) will provide cloud infrastructure to empower SAP’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in meeting the business needs of TM ONE’s enterprise customers.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) via its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM ONE, today sealed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cybersecurity specialist agency under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), to empower and strengthen the level of cybersecurity in Malaysia.

The MoC was signed in a virtual event by Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), TM. The ceremony was witnessed by General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Mohamed (Retired) Chairman of the Board of Directors, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh, Chairman of TM.

The event was also graced by the presence of YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia.

Commenting on key aspects of the memorandum, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh noted: “We are honoured to collaborate with CyberSecurity Malaysia in this strategic initiative, which is aimed at elevating the nation’s cybersecurity network and ecosystem and strengthening Malaysia’s self-reliance in cyberspace. Being a strategic partner, it is our pleasure to lend our expertise not just for this initiative but in Malaysia’s mission to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities. Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), via its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM ONE recently signed Master Service Agreement (MSA) with Telefónica Tech, through Telefónica Global Solutions. The partnership aims to strengthen its digital infrastructure solutions which enables TM ONE to offer global cybersecurity solutions for the Malaysian Enterprise and Public Sector against cyber threats.

The MSA was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of TM ONE and Julio Beamonte, Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica Global Solutions.

The MSA in place will enable TM ONE to further develop and implement a global cybersecurity strategy for Malaysian market. Telefónica Tech will provide consultancy to support and build a holistic cybersecurity program for the development of TM ONE Global Cyber Security Operations Centre (G-CSOC). This includes training in cybersecurity services to increase the digital intelligence and skillset of its local workforce.
