Managing a large fleet has become more than a logistics challenge. For enterprise operators today, it is increasingly about how quickly decisions can be made, how consistently operations can be governed, and how efficiently assets can be utilised across a constantly moving network.
For TM Fleet, operating thousands of vehicles across multiple locations meant the complexity was no longer in collecting data, it was in turning operational information into faster, repeatable decisions.
As fleet operations expanded, even small inefficiencies began compounding at scale. Dispatch coordination varied between locations, fuel consumption patterns were difficult to govern consistently, and operational teams often relied on fragmented updates before action could be taken.

The challenge was not visibility alone. It was operational consistency.

“When fleets scale, the real challenge is making sure decisions can be made quickly and consistently across the entire operation,”
said Sofia Shamsuddin, Head of Smart Services, TM One.
TM Fleet recognised that incremental process improvements were no longer enough. The organisation needed a more connected operating model, one that could transform fleet data into operational action in real time.
Working with TM One, TM Fleet adopted a smarter fleet management approach designed around three operational priorities:
Improving visibility across fleet operations
Accelerating planning and dispatch decisions
Strengthening fuel and utilisation governance
Rather than treating fleet management as a dashboard exercise, the focus shifted towards operational discipline, standardising how data is used to support planning, maintenance, dispatch, and daily decision-making.
Real-time tracking, vehicle condition monitoring, maintenance visibility, and operational analytics helped teams respond faster while improving coordination across fleet operations.

The Impact Was Measurable

TM Fleet recorded meaningful gains in operational efficiency, cost management, and sustainability outcomes as part of its transformation journey.
5% - 8%
total fleet savings through telematics optimisation, transforming raw vehicle diagnostics and tracking into smarter operational decisions.
RM 2M+
Fuel savings exceeding RM2 million over three years
2t+
More than 2 tons of CO₂ (carbon emission) reduction within the same period
But beyond the numbers, the bigger shift was operational.
Planning became more predictable. Exceptions could be identified earlier. Operational teams spent less time reconciling information manually and more time acting on insights that mattered.
For TM Fleet, the transformation was ultimately about creating a more connected and responsive operational environment, one where decisions could be made faster, earlier, and with greater consistency across the network.
“We didn’t need multiple dashboards. We needed a better way to turn operational information into action,”

As enterprise fleets continue evolving, the next phase of transformation is expected to focus less on visibility alone and more on continuous optimisation, using connected data, predictive insights, and operational intelligence to improve readiness, governance, and long-term efficiency.
For organisations operating at scale, competitive advantage may increasingly come not from adding more assets, but from making smarter operational decisions with the assets already in motion.
